About the Center

Supporting Sustainable Teaching Through Practical Professional Learning

The Center for Sustainable Teaching was created to provide professional learning that addresses the emotional, relational, and communication realities educators face every day.

Our Background

Built on Decades of Classroom Experience

The Center for Sustainable Teaching was founded by an educator with more than three decades of middle and high school teaching experience and extensive involvement in faculty professional learning.
Over time, it became increasingly clear that many educators were seeking professional learning that more directly addressed the emotional pressure, communication challenges, and relational realities of today’s classrooms.
These workshops were developed to provide practical, facilitator-ready professional learning that supports educators in building sustainable classroom practices and emotionally healthy learning environments.

Our Mission

Helping Educators Build Sustainable Classroom Practice

The mission of the Center for Sustainable Teaching is to support emotionally steady, sustainable classroom practice through practical professional learning grounded in the human realities of teaching.
Our workshops help educators strengthen communication, improve classroom stability, develop emotional resilience, and support long-term professional sustainability.

Our Philosophy

Teaching is not simply instructional. It is also emotional, relational, and deeply human.
Educators make communication decisions constantly—often rapidly, publicly, and under emotionally demanding conditions. Yet many teachers receive little professional learning focused on the emotional and relational realities of classroom life.
The Center for Sustainable Teaching believes that sustainable teaching requires more than academic expertise. It requires emotional steadiness, thoughtful communication, professional judgment, and practical systems that support both teachers and students.
